Overview

In the 1920s, gambling was illegal in the city of Los Angeles but still legal in Los Angeles County. Since West Hollywood was still unincorporated, casinos and nightclubs started popping up around what is now the Sunset Strip. There might not be much gambling these days, but West Hollywood still holds onto the bright lights and ubiquitous energy.
